1) Weekly Database Updates The new 'Update Database' menu option checks www.bettingmad.com for available updates downloads them and add thems to your database. At the same time it downloads the US and Euro files for the 'Weekly' page to preview the week ahead. Also downloaded is a news file that is displayed on the new 'News' page that contains information about the program. 2) Groups You can Add a Group based on Courses, Events or Locations. Then info can be displayed just on the items in your Group. For example under Courses you may want to create a group for courses called Links e.g. St Andrews, Carnoustie, etc. Under Events you may want to group those that are Pro Ams e.g. Bob Hope, AT & T, etc. Under Locations you may want to group those in the Far East e.g. China, Singapore, etc. The permutations are endless as they are entirely up to you e.g. easy courses, hard courses, par 70 courses, driving accuracy, windy courses, difficult putting, grass types, high humidity, desert, WGC events, early tee time required, events played at multiple courses, etc. Each group can have a maximum of 20 items. Then on screens such as Player History your Course groups will be displayed in a bracket at the bottom of the Courses dropdown box e.g. (OneOfYourCoursesGroupNames). Then you can select that group to display form for all the courses you selected when creating that group. All your Groups are saved in a new database groups.mdb which is initially supplied blank. This database is not password protected and can be opened if you have Access but do not save it as a later version than Access 2000 or the program will not be able to open it. If you know someone who has created several groups they could send you their groups.mdb. To use simply place it where you installed the program typically at "C:\Program Files\Bettingmad Golf", make sure you move your existing database if you want to keep it. 3) Events, Courses & Location loading Previously the US items were loaded and the 'Tour' box had to be changed to 'Euro' to load the European items instead. Now both US and European items are loaded immediately, US in alphabetical order and then European below. As you type pattern matching code identifies the relevant item. 4) Database Details Database details now allows selection of a year, first and last ID added can be used to delete database records to speed up searches There are two new menu options 'Missing FP' & 'Playoff 4th Round' that need to be run once to correct two errors in the data P4 & missing FP There is also a new Administrator Mode that allows special powers but that is only for me. 5) Preferences On a new 'Preferences' page certain items can be set as you want them to appear on various pages Mouse Wheel - enable or disable DNF Display - when a player did not complete all the rounds you can display a "0" or "Pos". A "Pos" is their finishing position in their last completed round DNF Value - if DNF display is set to "0" this is the value used when calculating average the average FP Weekly Weeks - on the Weekly page this value decides how many of recent weeks are included in the average FP 6) Weekly The 'Weekly' now allows you to select how many weeks you want to average 7) Search Limits Certain pages only allowed searches to return 1000 records or less. In some cases this is now 2000 records. 8) Help The 'Help' screen has a new search facility so you can input a word or phrase to find what you quicker. 9) Player By Year This page has been replaced 'Player Year By Week' and 'Player Year By Event'. These pages display how a player has performed over the years either in chronological week order or alphabetical event name order 10) Head To Head These pages now include average scores for the events as a whole not just when the players both played in the same event. 11) Shots Off Lead There are two new pages 'Shots Off Lead By Player' and 'Shots Off Lead BY Event'.
